You can be certain that in the last days there will be some very hard times. People will love only themselves and money. They will be proud, stuck-up, rude, and disobedient to their parents. They will also be ungrateful, godless, heartless, and hateful. Their words will be cruel, and they will have no self-control or pity. These people will hate everything good. They will be sneaky, reckless, and puffed up with pride. Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure. Even though they will make a show of being religious, their religion won’t be real… 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (CEV)
We are in a world that is surrounded by those who love only themselves and money. They think only of themselves. They treat others cruelly without regard to how the other person feels. Instead of appreciating the good in the world, they are ungrateful and heartless. God calls us to live life differently. He wants us to live a life full of love from Him. God wants us to share His love with the rest of the world around us. He wants us to demonstrate His love to the world. He wants us to live a life of honesty and integrity. Which will you choose – love of God or pleasure?
Prayer: God, thank you for providing a better way to live life. I choose to love you. Help me to live a life that demonstrates your love to the world around me. Show me the areas where I need to be more like you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
