God’s will is for you to be holy. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 (NLT)
God cares about WHO you are far more than WHAT you do. God wants you to be holy.
Growing in favor, being positioned to receive God’s favor, happens when we desire to know God and pursue a relationship with Him. When we know God and desire to live our lives in a way that pleases God, we live differently. We need to focus on ourselves as WHO we are in Christ above what we DO in the world.
By studying God’s word, we will learn God’s commands and live more Christ-like. When we are kind to others, do what God says to do, God will lead our paths.
My child never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:1-6 NLT
Pray: Dear God, thank you that Your word is true. Help us to live our lives by the Bible and bring You pleasure. Help us to live by Your commands so that we can position ourselves for Your favor. God, we need You to help us become WHO You want us to be so that we can do what You would have us do. Only by Your power and guidance in our lives can we grow and live like Jesus.
