Problems Produce Character

Problems Produce Character

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5 (NIV)

Jesus told us we would have troubles (John 16:33). We can forget that the struggles we endure serve a purpose in our lives. Our suffering ends up building character in us. We learn to wait for God to work out the details related to our problem. This waiting on God builds character in us that others get to witness. God uses the struggles we go through to help us in the end.

Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me that everything I go through serves a purpose. Thank you for building my character. Let my character be a reflection of your character. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
