Is your focus in life to seek approval from people or God? If you are trying to win the approval of people, you are setting yourself up for frustration. Why? People will love you today and gossip about you tomorrow. They will praise you while you are helping them succeed (think sports fans) and complain when things aren’t going well for them. If you let your emotions be tied to what they think of you, it will be like trying to hit a moving target. Instead of letting your emotions be tied to what they think, let your emotions be tied to God’s Word (the Bible). Be more focused about obeying God and winning His approval than on what other’s think about you.
