“Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.” 2 Corinthians 9:13 (NIV)
Jesus reminds us that those who serve others will be the greatest in the kingdom (Matthew 20:26). Our service to others proves to the world around us that we are God’s children. We can serve others in many ways based on our unique talents and abilities. Each of us has been given talents we can use to serve others. As we serve them generously, we share with them the good news of the gospel. We show the love of God in every act of service we do for others. Jesus reminds us that when we serve the least, we are doing it unto God (Matthew 25:40).
Next Steps: Find someone to serve today. Volunteer to help someone in need. Make a meal for a sick friend. Give a couple a night out by watching their children.
