Provision

Provision

“We were not idle when we were with you … On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you.”  2 Thessalonians 3:7-8 (NIV)

We were created to work.  Our work has multiple purposes.  One of those purposes is to prevent us from being a burden on others as referenced in the verse above.  God made us with the ability to work so we can provide for ourselves and our families.  We can spend our time working to allow us to care for those we love.  God is our source, but our work becomes an avenue that He uses to bring provision into our lives.

Prayer: God, thank you for giving me the ability to care for my family.  I choose not to be idle or be a burden on others.  Continue to direct my path in where I should work to fulfill my purpose.  [If seeking employment]  God lead me to the job that best matches my skills and aligns with the purpose you have for my life.  Give me confidence when I speak during the interview and give me favor with the interviewer.  Lord, thank you for all that you do for me.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
