Rely on God’s Promises

Rely on God’s Promises

…for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]— 2 Corinthians 5:7 (AMP)

For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Romans 6:4 (NLT)

As a Christian, it’s important to live by what God’s Word (the Bible) tells us and not by what we see.  What you see at various points in your life can often appear opposite of God’s Word.  At those specific times, it’s important that you hold onto God’s promises and remember that what He (God) said in the Bible is true despite what you are experiencing.

With this in mind, we also learn that we are able to live new lives through Christ Jesus.  We have this ability, not because of anything that we have done, but because of God’s glorious power.  Hold on to this promise!  Maybe you are struggling with a habit and it seems difficult to break.  Remember that you have the power to live a new life through Christ, despite what you may see or think.  Take a moment to reflect on what you read today.
