When We See Jesus Clearly We Experience His Love Fully

But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all. If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.  If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.  1 Corinthians 12:31; 13:1-3

“Let me show you.”  The greatest testimony we can give is not in our words, but in our actions.  What we show means so much more than what we say.  It may be cliché, but it’s true:  People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.  How can words convince anyone if actions don’t show love and understanding?

Christians are called to care, to love, and most of all, to reflect the amazing character of Jesus clearly.  A cloudy vision of Jesus is often seen by the world as they watch us as Christians.  We may bicker with each other, or gossip, or judge.  We may get mad when we get cut off in traffic, or upset when someone runs into us in the grocery store.  Yet Jesus was patient, understanding, and always loving.  We need to look at His example with clear eyes so that we can bring that amazing love into a world that so desperately needs it.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, may I bring Your amazing love into this world.  Help me to see everyone I meet as a brother or sister, and help me to love them as You do.  May I truly be an example of Your love and clearly reflect Your character in this broken world.  Amen.
