Time To Contribute

Christ chose some of us to be apostles, prophets, missionaries, pastors, and teachers, so that his people would learn to serve and his body would grow strong. This will continue until we are united by our faith and by our understanding of the Son of God. Then we will be mature, just as Christ is, and we will be completely like him. Ephesians 4:11-13 (CEV)

Growing in Christian maturity is very similar to growing in physical maturity. We start out as babies dependent completely on others. We grow into children, beginning to do things for ourselves but still rely on others to help us when we need it. Our young adult years are almost fully independent yet we still need help every once in awhile.  At this phase we also start helping others along the way. As we further mature through adulthood we begin to think less about ourselves and more about helping others younger than us along their way.

As Christians, we go through the same phases. God wants us to grow into mature adults giving back and helping others with their walk with God. He wants us to become more like Him so we can help the new baby Christians mature in their relationship with God and others. He wants us to get to a place of maturity where we serve others instead of always waiting to be served. Click here to find out more about maturing in your walk with God.
