The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1 (NIV)
Abram received directions from God to pack up and go. God didn’t tell Him where to go but gave him instructions of what to do. God had a plan of what He wanted to do through Abram’s life – He wanted to bless him so he could be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2-3). But for all this to happen, Abram had to follow the instructions God gave him.
God has a plan to bless others through each of us. We all have something we need to let go of so we can move forward with God’s plan for our lives. The thing we need to leave behind and the place we will go may be different for everyone. We need to spend time getting to know what God wants us to let go of so we can accomplish all He has for us. It’s time to go.
Prayer: God, thank you that you want to bless me so I can be a blessing to others. Show me what I need to leave behind so I can accomplish your plan for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
