Time to Ponder

Time to Ponder

At the Lord’s direction, Moses kept a written record of their progress. Numbers 33:2a (NLT)

God has given each of us a role to play in history. We read of the heroes of faith in (Hebrews 11). Each of them had a story to tell. But the way they stirred up their faith was reminding themselves of what God had done in their lives. As David was trying to convince Saul he could defeat Goliath, he told him of the past victory God brought him while guarding the family sheep (1 Samuel 17:33-37). Mary heard a lot of different things around the time her son, Jesus, was born. She treasured them all and pondered them in her heart (Luke 2:19).

When we focus on our problems, it is easy for our faith to weaken. We think of all the things that could go wrong. But when we ponder on all the things God has done for us and brought us through, it gives us reasons to be thankful, rejoice and stirs our faith. It is time to ponder on God’s goodness.
