“He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ Luke 16:27-28 (NIV)
Imagine standing at the side of the road. You see a person crossing the street and suddenly there is a bus coming. The person in the street doesn’t see the bus coming, and it doesn’t have time to stop. Do you warn the person that the bus is coming, or just let the person get hit by the bus? Of course we would try to warn the person that the bus was coming, so they could get out of the way.
Many people are on their way to the place of eternal torment. They do not yet have a personal relationship with the God of the universe. We have what they need to prevent them from spending eternity in a place without God. It is time for us to warn others and share the good news.
Prayer: God, thank you for reminding me to warn others. Send someone across my path today that needs to hear about your gift of salvation. Help me to speak the truth in love. In Jesus name. Amen.
