“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:8-9 (NLT)
Sin in our lives can be intimidating. How can we make our way back to living as God tells us to? How do we start on that path if we’ve been living mostly for ourselves until now? God has an amazing gift for us: His grace. When we realize our faults and sins, confess them to the Lord, and ask for forgiveness, we are forgiven by Him. He cleanses us from our past and removes the sin from us. He gives us a completely fresh start on life and complete freedom from our past sins.
Pray: Lord, I confess I sinned against you in my thoughts and actions. Please forgive me for the times I have fallen short of your standards for me and help me to accept this forgiveness. Lead me to the path of freedom and help me to stay on that path and away from temptations. Thank you for this great gift of forgiveness and for this new beginning. Amen.
