What Are You Looking At?

What Are You Looking At?

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NLT)

Life is full of problems.  Some days you experience minor bumps.  On other days, it seems like there is a big mountain to climb.  We can handle the little things, but some days it feels like we are just buried under the mountain.  God is fully aware of what your day will look like.  He is intimately aware of your life and all of its struggles.

God does not want to belittle your circumstances.  No, He’s right there with you in the middle of it.  However, let’s keep a perspective on things.  This life is not permanent.  The struggles in life aren’t permanent either.  Things we see today, the bumps or mountains in front of us, they won’t matter in eternity.  These things will go away.  Fix your gaze on things that cannot be seen.  These things will last forever.
