“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Luke 16:10 (NLT)
If you’re a parent, think about the first day you will turn over the car keys to your children. Scary right? If you’re a teenager, think about lending your favorite sweater to your best friend and hoping it doesn’t come back ruined. Before you give over the keys or the sweater, you would give this situation serious thought. Can this person be trusted with my most valuable possession?
So, it’s kind of like that with God. How we steward (manage) our time, money, talent, etc., determines how much more God will give us. We won’t be trusted with big things until we are trustworthy with little things. Promotion is based on character. If you are trustworthy, God will give you more.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we know you see and know every detail of our lives. Search our hearts and awaken us to areas where we could do a better job managing the blessings you have given us. Lord, thank you for the blessings I have and the future blessings that you will bring. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
