A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Luke 6:45 (NIV)
One way to determine your attitude is by checking the words you speak. Are the words you speak building yourself and others up or tearing everyone down? Do you speak words of hope and faith or fear and doubt? If someone listened to your words, would they know you are a believer in Christ or would you blend in with those who don’t share their faith in God? Your words flow from what you believe in the depths of your heart. Spend time today reviewing what you are saying.
Ask God to help you control your tongue. Stop a few times throughout the day and review conversations you’ve had. Ask God to show you areas where you need to change your words. Ask Him to reveal what needs to change in your heart.
