Who Are You Listening To?

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3 (NKJV)

We are surrounded by both good and bad messages. They can come in the form of books we read, things we hear on the radio or from television. There are messages on social media and in conversations we have with other people. We even have internal messages, including the thoughts we meditate on throughout the day. All these messages can either build us up or tear us down. The Bible reminds us that we should meditate on God’s Word and messages that line up with His Word. We should surround ourselves with those who delight in God’s Word and build others up. Who are you listening to?

Next Steps:
Spend time today paying attention to the messages you hear. Find one message you may be listening to that tears you down and replace it with a message source that will build you up.
