Friendship is full of activity. We spend time rejoicing at the good things that happen in the life of our friends. We cry with them when things go wrong. We celebrate their successes. We mourn their losses with them. We also need to encourage them to go beyond their current place in life. We can push them to grow in their faith. We can point out the areas where they may need to change in relation to how they treat others. We can highlight areas where they may not be mirroring God’s character in their life. As a friend, we can help sharpen those in our life.
Prayer: God, thank you for the activities of friendship. Help me to aid my friends in their growth. I thank you for the ability to sharpen others so they can fulfill the purpose you have for them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
