Disapproval

Disapproval

But Moses protested again, “What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say, ‘The Lord never appeared to you’?” Exodus 4:1 (NLT)

Living for the approval of others will lead to disaster.  How do you know if you’re living for the approval of others?  When you are consumed (occupied by or griped) with statements such as: I wonder what they think about me, I hope they like it, I just want them to like me, etc.  When your actions are centered around or determined by what others think or how they may react, that’s a sign that you may be focusing too much on the approval of others.  Instead of letting what other people think be the focus of your attention, focus on what God has said about you.  Let’s be clear.  Our security, confidence, and self-esteem come from what God has said about us (in the Bible), not from what other people think or say about you.  Take some time this week to study what God has said about you in His Word (the Bible).
