It is so easy to get into the habit of comparing ourselves to others. Is what we are doing measuring up to others? Does our home and yard look as nice compared to our neighbors? Is our work better than the work from our co-workers?
If we are busy focusing on others, we can make mistakes and not do our best work. We are encouraged to focus on our own activities and put our full effort into it since we work for the Lord and not ourselves.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)
