Forgive Irrationally

Forgive Irrationally

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

People make mistakes. They can sometimes hurt us intentionally and other times hurt us unintentionally. We have a choice to hold grudges and continue to nurse hurt feelings toward them. But God calls us to forgive them, whether we think they deserve it or not, because he forgave us. We did not deserve God’s forgiveness, but he gave us the gift of his forgiveness anyway. We can do the same for others. We need to forgive irrationally.

Prayer: God, thank you for the gift of your forgiveness. Show me who I need to forgive in my life. Give me the strength to forgive them. In Jesus name. Amen.
