Hope: A Sure Thing

Hope: A Sure Thing

But when God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.  Titus 3:4-7 (NLT)

1 out of 6 people believe there is no after life.  How we face death says a lot about how we face life.  When we place faith in God our perspective changes.

Biblical hope believes God can and will do what God has promised.  Biblical hope believes God will intervene.

Anchor yourself to God by receiving the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

It’s not enough to say that Jesus is historically true like Abraham Lincoln was true.  We need to believe that Jesus is real and His power is real in our lives today.  Believe and receive the power of Jesus.

There is no better time to receive the gift of Jesus as Savior than at Christmas.

Remember, God’s love came to you on the way to someone else.  God’s love doesn’t stop with you.  God’s love keeps going through you to someone else.  God has enough love to save the world.  God’s love is a renewable resource—new every morning.  Who can you give it away to today?

Prayer:

Dear God,

Thank You for the assurance of a future with You.  Thank You for the confidence of our eternal life that comes when we receive the gift of Jesus Christ.  Help our faith to be a living, growing faith, not just based on historical facts but based on a vibrant relationship we pursue with You.  Most importantly God, please help us to show Your love to those around us.  Help us to bring people to know You especially at Christmastime.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
