You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28 (NLT)
Oftentimes we think obeying God is all about our outward actions. We have control over our actions, even though we don’t always control them as we should. But our motives show what is going on in our hearts. While our actions are under our control, we need God’s help to get our motives and heart cleaned up. Be aware of what’s going on in your heart.
