Love with Touch

Love with Touch

A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Matthew 8:2 (NIV)

Who knew a handshake, hug or high five could mean so much? Significant healing happens even the smallest touch. Physical contact can bring deep emotional healing. Who do you know who could use a handshake or high five today?

We see in the miracle of the leper that Jesus chose to touch the unclean man to heal him. Jesus could have spoken to the man, but Jesus chose to touch him. The leper needed touch as much as he needed healing. The leprosy was the outside evidence of a greater inside need. Jesus knew this man was isolated. Jesus touch brought love and healing to the whole man.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, Whose life can we touch in a tangible way today? Who can we truly touch in person in a way we can’t over text, email, or across the room? Show us ways we can invest so little of ourselves that can mean so much to others. Thank you Jesus, Amen.
