When our confidence is shaken, one thing we can remember is that God is always working for us. God is a loving Father and is always supporting us, protecting us, and blessing us. While we may feel at times that our performance or our behavior determines how God reacts to us, the truth is that God is working for our good despite our current behavior. That does not mean our actions are without consequence, but we do not need to be perfect in order for God to love us. We are already working from God’s approval, not for His approval.
Prayer: Lord, allow me to remember and hold to the idea that you are always working for me. I know I do not need to earn your approval or earn your grace. It is already given freely to me. I am already loved by you and you already are working on my behalf to help me. Let my confidence in you grow, Lord, and let its foundation bring me confidence in all areas of my life. Amen.
