Opportunity

Opportunity

“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT)

Everyday we are presented with situations where we can reflect the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, goodness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). We can make the most of every opportunity to show God’s love to those around us. We can show love to those who are hurting. We can demonstrate patience with our children as they learn a new skill. We can show kindness to the cashier when we pick up lunch. We can exercise self-control as we drive through rush hour traffic. We don’t know how much God can use our actions to make a difference in the life of someone else. We have so many opportunities to sow godly principles everywhere we go. Make the most of those opportunities to sow into eternity.

Prayer: God, thank you for reminding me that I am surrounded by opportunities to live carefully. Help me to live a life full of the fruit of the Spirit. Help me be aware of the opportunities that abound to show your love to a lost and hurting world. In Jesus name. Amen.
