Out of sheer generosity God put us in right standing with Himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where He always wanted us to be. And He did it through Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24-25 (MSG)
The devotional today revolves around one simple question. Let’s use an example. Imagine someone deciding to give you a new smartphone. They show you the box containing the smartphone. They go over all of the features of the smartphone. They even begin to explain all of the technical specifications about the phone. The question is simple – when does the phone actually become yours? When you receive it!
God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. The Bible details His life. The Bible tells us about His ministry and the miracles He performed. The Bible even tells us how to receive Him into our lives. So, the question is simple – when does Jesus become Lord of your life? When you receive God’s free gift! You can learn about Jesus. You can read about Jesus. But the “gift” isn’t yours until you receive it. Will you receive Christ today? Pray this simple prayer:
Jesus, I need you in my life. Forgive me for all of my sins and mess-ups. I’m tired of doing life alone and I need your help. Come into my heart and be Lord over my life. I believe in my heart that you are Lord, that you died for my sins, and that you rose from the dead. Thank you Lord for forgiving me and saving me. AMEN
