Run to Win

Run to Win

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NLT)

One of the main points in the verse above is DISCIPLINE. Another point in this verse is the idea that if you are going to do anything, do it to win. What are you doing right now in life that lacks discipline? Maybe you go to work late. Maybe you volunteer, but don’t take your role seriously. Maybe you arrive at church late. Maybe there’s a task where you give minimum output, just so you can say you did the task. Whatever the case, if you are going to do the activity in the first place, do it to win. Be your best and let your lifestyle be an example to others. Where do you need to be more disciplined today? What will you do to be more disciplined?
