Sever

Sever

A mirror reflects a man’s face but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.  Proverbs 27:19 (GN)

When pruning a tree, we remove specific branches or stems to benefit the whole tree. We remove the dead, damaged and diseased branches to help prevent insects & decay from entering the tree. When we thin a dense canopy on a tree, you increase air and sunlight, resulting in fewer disease problems.  The same can happen with relationships.  There can be relationships in our lives that need to be removed to improve our lives as a whole.  They may be damaging or distracting us from the plan God has for our lives.  We should look at the relationships in our life and determine if there are any we need to sever.

Prayer: God, thank you for reminding me that there could be some relationships that are damaging.  Show me any relationships in my life that I need to sever.  Give me the strength to cut away anything that is holding me back from being all that you have called me to be.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
